What is ELMCARE?
ELMCARE is a Physician Hospital Organization (PHO owned by Elmhurst Memorial Health System and two Physician Groups admitting to Elmhurst Memorial Hospital, Elmhurst Physicians Association (EPA) and Elmhurst Clinic.

ELMCARE contracts with various Managed Care Companies on behalf of the Physicians and Hospital.

What insurance plans does ELMCARE take?
ELMCARE Physicians and Elmhurst Memorial Hospital participate in a variety of payer plans. Besides HMO and PPO Plans, the physicians and hospital take Medicare, Medicaid and Medicare supplements.

Do ELMCARE Physicians take any other plans not on the contract list??
Yes, depending on the Plan and Physician Office, there may be some health plans that ELMCARE is not affiliated with in which your physician does participate individually.

Before enrolling in a plan, you should check with your physician’s office and health plan to verify participation.

Do ELMCARE Physicians admit to other hospitals?
All ELMCARE Physicians have admitting privileges to Elmhurst Memorial Hospital. In addition, some may have other admitting privileges besides Elmhurst Memorial Hospital.
