The Elmhurst Physicians' Association (EPA) The EPA is an independent IPA, currently servicing 275+ physician members. The EPA was founded in 1985 to provide a vehicle for independent physicians on staff at Elmhurst Memorial Hospital to access managed care contracts and other services. It served as the independent physicians' main contracting vehicle from 1985 through 1994, when it joined with the Elmhurst Clinic physicians and Elmhurst Memorial Hospital to create ELMCARE, the PHO. The EPA owns 30% of ELMCARE. The EPA serves as the voice for the independent physician in the activities of ELMCARE, as well as providing its physician members with other key services. |
